634th BSB History
The 634th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB), (redesignated from 634th Forward Support Battalion in 2006) is a logistics unit of the Illinois Army National Guard, part of the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team. A recent deployment saw a Forward Logistics Element (FLE) of the 634th BSB support U.S. Army Europe and Africa, providing logistical support to special operations forces. The unit, a small group of about a dozen soldiers, was divided into two teams, one in Africa and one in Germany, and returned home in early August 2025.
The 634th FSB deployed to Iceland to take part in the 2001 Northern Viking exercise. This was the unit's first overseas deployment since being organized in 1993. While in Iceland, the unit supplied the 66th Infantry Brigade daily with fuel, rations and ammunition. The unit worked closely with the 106th Aviation out of Peoria, IL, to ensure that provisions reached Soldiers in the field.
Please provide any history you may have of the 634th Brigade Support Battalion. Pictures would also be nice to add. Most pictures I have are specific to Bravo Company of the FSB and TF Santa Fe of 2002.
